Some Showers On The Breeze Today

Florida’s southwest coast will see a few showers on the breeze today as a very weak tropical wave moves in. Tuesday features sun and a few clouds to start, followed by building clouds and some showers in the afternoon. Highs on Tuesday will be in the low 90s.

Look decent sun, some clouds, and passing showers at times on Wednesday. Wednesday’s highs will be in the low 90s.

More moisture arrives late on Thursday as a fairly vigorous tropical wave approaches, and we’ll see increasing shower coverage in the afternoon and evening. Thursday’s highs will be near 90 degrees.

Friday will feature some sun, more clouds, and showers and storms on the breeze. Friday’s highs will be in the upper 80s.

Tropical moisture will linger on Saturday, so showers and storms are in the forecast. Highs on Saturday will be in the upper 80s.

In the tropics, Tropical Storm Ophelia is moving slowly in the central Atlantic. At 5 am Tuesday, Ophelia was located near 31.9 North, 38.8 West, and was moving southeast at 3 miles per hour. Maximum sustained winds were 50 miles per hour, but Ophelia is forecast to strengthen before conditions become hostile. Ophelia is not a threat to land.
