Showers and storms will be around Florida’s southwest coast on Monday, thanks to a weak tropical wave to our south. Monday features periods of sun, but we’ll see plenty of passing showers and afternoon storms developing as the Gulf breeze clashes with the Atlantic sea breeze. Some of those late-day storms could be strong, with periods of heavy rain and dangerous lightning. Highs on Monday will be near 90 degrees.
Wednesday will bring a return to more typical summer weather, with good sun and a few clouds to start, followed by late-day storms in spots. Highs on Wednesday will be in the low 90s.
Look for more of the same on Thursday — plenty of sun, a few clouds, and storms developing along the Gulf breeze in the afternoon. Thursday’s highs will be in the low 90s.
Friday’s forecast includes good sun, building clouds, and some storms in the afternoon, especially well inland. Highs on Friday will be in the low 90s.
In the tropics, the wave about 800 miles east of the Lesser Antilles has a medium chance of developing into a depression during the next 5 days. A wave in the eastern Atlantic has a low chance of developing by the weekend.Click here for reuse options!
