Storms Linger As Wave Moves North; Closely Watching A Wave in Atlantic

LingerStorms linger along Florida’s southwest coast on Friday as the wave that’s been bringing us rain moves northward. Friday features early storms and showers, alternating with clouds and sun. Look for additional storms and showers in the afternoon. Highs on Friday will be in the low 90s.

Saturday will see more sun, followed by building clouds and some afternoon storms forming along the Gulf breeze, with most of the activity well inland. Saturday’s highs will be in the low 90s.

Look for good sun and a few clouds on Sunday, with afternoon storms developing along the Gulf breeze. Sunday’s highs will be in the low 90s.

Monday will bring good sun, a few clouds, and late-day storms popping up in spots. Monday’s highs will be in the low 90s.

Tuesday’s forecast features sun and clouds and some afternoon storms. Highs on Tuesday will be in the low 90s.

In the tropics, the wave that’s been over our area still has a low chance of developing into a depression as it pulls away, but its most important effects will be heavy rainfall. The wave in the Atlantic that we’ve been watching for some time still has a medium chance of developing late in the weekend or early next week when it encounters somewhat more favorable conditions. We’ll continue to watch it, but it is forecast to remain well east of Florida. And the remnants of Franklin continue to dump heavy rain on Mexico.
